Backup NAND
Guide Information
Creating a NAND backup is the one thing everyone with a Switch should do before they do anything else relating to CFW. It allows you to restore your Switch at a later date if you want to clean stuff up, or if you were to install something malicious that bricks your Switch.
- 30+ Minutes
- You need 30GB of free space on the microSD card to create a backup.
What You Need
- Any Switch With CFW
- Hekate Bootloader Folder & Payload
- MicroSD Card (64GB+)
Backup NAND
- Make sure you have the Hekate bootloader folder on the root of your microSD card, and the corresponding hekate_ctcaer_x.x.x.bin payload. If you don’t have them click the link below and extract the hekate_ctcaer_x.x.x_Nyx_x.x.x.zip to the root of your microSD card.
- Insert your microSD card into your Switch > put your Switch into RCM > inject the hekate_ctcaer_x.x.x.bin to boot into Hekate.
- Set the Time/Date.
- Select Tools > Backup eMMC > eMMC BOOT0 & BOOT1.
- Once the backup finishes select Close > eMMC RAW GPP.
- Once the backup finishes select Close > Close.
- Copy the backup folder to your PC for safekeeping, then delete it from your microSD card.
