Title Override

Guide Information

Prevent homebrew apps from crashing by giving them full RAM using title override.

Entering the hbmenu in Applet Mode will not give your homebrew applications the necessary power or permissions to function correctly causing your system to crash. Using Title Override overcomes this because the Switch thinks you are loading a game.

Whilst some homebrew applications do not require a title override, if you find some applications are crashing you should use Title Override to prevent crashes.

Title Override

  1. You can access the hbmenu via the Album icon on your Switch home screen. This will run the hbmenu in Applet Mode causing some applications to crash. Or you can access the hbmenu via a Title Override. This will launch the hbmenu without it being in Applet Mode.
  1. To use Title Override, highlight a game on your home screen and hold the R Button whilst launching the game using the A Button.
  1. Keep holding the R Button and select a user with the A Button (if enabled).
  1. Release the R Button once you reach the hbmenu. It will no longer show Applet Mode.
