Guide Information
Backup and restore a partition based emuMMC to a new microSD card.

- You need 30GB of free space on the microSD card to backup an emuMMC or you will be forced to create it in parts.
What You Need
- Any Switch With CFW
- Hekate Bootloader Folder & Payload
- MicroSD Card (64GB+)
- Partition Based emuMMC
Backup emuMMC
- Make sure you have the Hekate bootloader folder on the root of your microSD card, and the corresponding hekate_ctcaer_x.x.x.bin payload. If you don’t have them click the link below and extract the hekate_ctcaer_x.x.x_Nyx_x.x.x.zip to the root of your microSD card.
- Insert your microSD card into your Switch > put your Switch into RCM > inject the hekate_ctcaer_x.x.x.bin to boot into Hekate.
- Set the Time/Date.
- Select Tools > Backup eMMC.
- Select SD emuMMC Raw Partition to turn it ON > select SD emuMMC BOOT0 & BOOT1.
- Once the backup finishes select Close > SD emuMMC RAW GPP.
- Once the backup finishes select Close > Close > Home.
- Power off your Switch > eject the microSD card and insert it into your PC.
- Create a folder on your desktop called SD Backup.
- Copy the full contents of your microSD card to the SD Backup folder on your desktop.
Restore To New MicroSD Card
- Once it has copied everything to the SD Backup folder, eject the microSD card and insert the new microSD card.
Open the SD Backup folder and copy the bootloader folder to the new microSD card.

Move the boot.dat, boot.ini and payload.bin as well so you can boot Hekate.

- Eject the new microSD card > insert into your Switch > boot into Hekate.
- On the Hekate home screen, select Tools > Partition SD Card > OK.
- Drag the Red emuMMC (RAW) slider until it says 29 FULL (58 for OLED) on the right hand side.
- Select Next Step > Start on the Partition Manager screen, then select the Power Button to confirm.
- Once Hekate finishes partitioning your microSD card, select OK > Close > Home.
- Power your Switch off > eject the new microSD card > insert it into your PC.
- Open the SD Backup folder on your desktop and copy everything except the bootloader folder to the new microSD card.
- Once it has finished, open the backup/xxxxxxxx/emummc folder on the new microSD card and move all the rawnand.bin.xx, BOOT0, and BOOT1 files from there into the backup/xxxxxxxx/restore//emummc folder.
- Eject the new microSD card > insert it into your Switch > boot into Hekate.
- Select Tools > Restore eMMC > select SD emuMMC Raw Partition to turn it ON.
- Select SD emuMMC RAW GPP > Press Power to accept the warning.
- Once it has finished, select Close > SD emuMMC BOOT0 & BOOT1 > Press Power to accept the warning.
- Once it has finished, select Close > Close > Home.
- Select emuMMC > Migrate emuMMC > Fix RAW > Continue > OK > Close.
- Boot Atmosphere, open System Settings > scroll down to System and look for the ‘E’ for emuMMC in the version string.
- Check your emuMMC is working properly and all of your games and saves are there before wiping your old microSD card. You can also delete the backup folder off your new microSD card.
