Maintenance Mode
Guide Information
Booting into Maintenance/Recovery Mode will remove a pending system update. It also clears the cache and can often resolve minor issues your Switch might be experiencing.

- Set up ban protection before removing a pending update.
Clear Cache Or Pending Update
- Boot Atmosphere CFW by injecting fusee.bin, or from the Launch tab in Hekate. Then quickly press and hold the volume + and volume – buttons together.
- Keep hold of both volume buttons until the Maintenance/Recovery Mode menu is displayed, then release both volume buttons.
- Do not do anything in Maintenance/Recovery Mode, simply hold the power button for 15 seconds to turn off your Switch.
- Reboot Atmosphere CFW, the cache will be cleared and the pending update will be removed if you had one pending (Erista only).
- Modchips that use the volume buttons to boot OFW.
- Copy the system_settings.ini from the atmosphere/config_templates folder to the atmosphere/config folder on the root of your microSD card.
- Open the system_settings.ini and paste this at the bottom of the existing text:

- Boot Atmosphere CFW and it will boot into Maintenance/Recovery Mode.
- Once there simply hold the Power Button for 15 seconds to turn off your Switch.
- Go to the atmosphere/config folder on the root of your microSD card and delete the system_settings.ini.
- Modchips that use the volume buttons to boot OFW.
